Expectations

I just realized another change in my mindset.

Before I started this journey, I expected a LOT out of myself. Perfection, essentially. And if I didn't achieve perfection, I beat myself up about it and it was not a healthy way of thinking about things.

Then, over the course of this journey, I learned to just do whatever I could do. Even a little bit is better than nothing. Just give it whatever I've got TODAY... and tomorrow I'll give what I've got TOMORROW. But don't expect to be perfect. Just do whatever you can. And as long as that's SOMETHING. Then you're doing it exactly right.

Essentially, I lowered my expectations so I wouldn't beat myself up over not achieving my goals.

NOW I'm entering a new mindset. NOW I'm thinking... set my goals a bit higher than whatever I think I will achieve, so that I'll have motivation to keep pressing and to work as hard as I can.

I would never have been able to work with this kind of mindset when I first started.

It's pretty cool to see that transition. :D

It's definitely a journey that changes over time. I took a little detour but didn't get lost. :)
