I'm a stay at home mom and I take care of a very energetic 10 year old boy. He is my life, my world, my everything. He is the single most important person in my life, and I want to be able to keep up with him for as long as I can.
I gained about 20 pounds after I started taking Wellbutrin back in November of 2010, and that brought me up to 190 pounds. That's when I decided something needed to change. In the beginning of June, 2011, I began trying to form a workout regiment. First I started with situps, some yoga and light cardio, then moved on to jogging. I only lost a few pounds doing this over the course of a few months, then gained it back. I was a bit discouraged.
Coincidentally, I found out that a good friend of mine was doing Turbo Fire, and she had lost nearly 40 pounds. I was intrigued, so I decided to try it too. I still do it pretty regularly, but have added in Zumba on the Wii, jogging, swimming and biking in the summer, and hiking whenever I get the chance.
It took me just under 5 months to get to my original goal of 140 pounds. The last time I weighed 140 pounds was in June of 2007, when I married my husband. I have since reached my 2nd goal weight of 130 pounds. I had not weighed less than 140 pounds since before my son was born - a huge achievement for me. :)
I can't help being amazed sometimes by how much stronger I have become, how much fun I still have working out, and how far I have come as a person. Taking care of myself has taught me that I am important, I matter, and I am worth everything I have to give. I feel better, I look better, and I love my body more now than I ever have. :)
Starting Weight: 190 pounds
First Goal Weight: 140 pounds (Reached 10-13-11)
Second Goal Weight: 130 pounds (Reached 11-07-11)
New Goal: Lower BF% I'm shooting for around 15% :)
Why I Want To Get In Shape
I want to live a long, healthy, fuller life. I want to be able to do things when and how I want to do them. I don't want my health holding me back from what could be an awesome experience or keep me from being around as long as I can for my family and friends. I want to be happy with my appearance. I want to feel good inside and out. I never want to be afraid again - I've been there. It's a sad thing when you truly fear that your life may be cut short because of stupid decisions you've made. It's a shame to be so afraid of life that you don't even want to live it anymore. I will never let myself sink that low again, ever.
- My friend Kat, she inspired me to get fit and start working out.
- My husband, he works hard every day and has loved me through it all.
- My son, his energy and love for life inspires me to go the extra mile.
- My mother and my sister - they have always loved me unconditionally.
