I previously wrote About Me, "Since joining MFP I've dropped 20 pounds, learned that eating too many carbs at one time makes me sick, found out I'm lactose sensitive, that I was protein-depleted and I need to keep the animal fat in check. I'm now dairy, gluten, and egg free yet I can still enjoy an ice cold glass of beer at the end of the day. Cheers!"

Why I want to get in shape
I stay in shape so that I can live a vibrant life and fulfill my many roles with great energy and joy. To be specific, I want to maintain my ideal weight, increase my cardio and muscle strength, and run.
Shocking to me, an adamant non-runner for my entire life, running has become the glue that holds me together. And it all started with a thought that popped into my head 2.5 years ago, "I want to run." Of course, just as quickly that was followed by "You're not a runner! You're not an athlete! You've never done anything like that before? You don't have the time! You will fail! What are you thinking?" Yes, the thoughts that keep us from our best. So, please, if you have ever had the thought, even for a second, that you want to run. Do it. Do it! And I'm here to cheer you on.
