About Me
My name is Amy, I'm 24 years old, 5'10", and on July 21st I was weighing in at 230 lbs. That day I began the P90X exercise program. I decided to focus on getting myself in the routine of exercising regularly to start, then I planned to work on my eating habbits. I did start cutting my portions in half the day I began exercising though.
Though I have missed some of the workouts on the schedule that came with the videos, I have been exercising 4-6 days a week for about an hour a day. My weight so far as of 8-24-08 was 221 lbs. Although I did lose 9 lbs. in one month, I feel as though I could do better if I would get my diet under control.
Now, with the help of Finesspal.com, I plan on tackling my weight from all angles through eating a balanced diet and getting more consistant with my workouts. I will post my weight every 30 days starting today. Wish me luck!
Why I Want To Get In Shape
I want to get in shape so that I have more energy, and so that I feel better about myself. I used to be very confident when I was thin, and now I find myself deciding not to go out because I don't have anything left in my closet that fits me. Last year I kept buying new clothes to try to make myself feel more attractive when I went out, but it didn't make me feel better because it was my weight that was bothering me, not what I was wearing.
I just want to feel like I'm 24 years old instead of feeling sluggish and worn down like I'm old already. I can't wait to be myself again.
My Inspirations
- So that I can become the person I used to be again.
- Feeling comfortable in a dress for the first time in 6 years.
- Participating in physical activities without getting tired quickly.
- Getting rid of all my plus-size clothes and making room for new stuff.

That is my boy in the picture! He was tiny when we got him and he is huge now! About a year old and he has no idea he isn't a kitten anymore.
For exercise, I usually do about 30 minutes on the elliptical and I do weight lifting machines. I also do rowing machines and crunches for more strength training. I go about 4 times a week, sometimes 3.

I can understand not having or wanting to make anytime with school and work in the way. It's already so tiring that you probably drag your feet to the workout room. I don't envy you at all on that fact. That's why I'm trying to reach my weight loss goals before I start school again. I commend you for trying and even though you have moments of weaknesses you get back up and try again. That is amazing! That said I think it's a wonderful idea to start the X over. I'm definitely up for round two of the X, which I'm thinking about doing in February. Because from November to January I'm going to take on ChaLEAN Extreme, another 90 program :)
